I'm sorry to say that buying three pieces in the same style was not a good idea, and they do unfortunately look too large for your space. Is there any chance of returning/exchanging any of them? The rage for gray is rapidly passing, although furniture stores are usually at least five years behind what's fashionable now and can still sell gray because most people aren't aware of what's current. If possible return the love seat and the chair, and buy two smaller chairs in a different color. Alternatively, return the love seat only and replace it with the gray chair, and then buy a smaller chair to put where the gray one is now. Find a colorful patterned carpet (Oriental would be good) and buy the new chair in one of the colors in the rug. Blue or yellow would go well with gray. Pick a heavy cream fabric for the window to temper the gray walls somewhat. Find some large pieces of colorful art to fill the walls. Pick a glass coffee table that will show the rug and which will give a lighter feeling to this small area that is filled with furniture.

Maybe rug could have a large pattern to liven it up, so here's a poly rug, and highly rated $152 chair to lighten.

If floor is somewhat rustic, maybe this rug, and blue denim items/ pillow:

Glass table wouldn't be an option as I have 3 small kiddos! I wouldn't be able to return any of the pieces I do however have a finished basement with no furniture in it so I can always move the love seat and chair down there and could shop around for some colorful chairs for this room.
Do you think I need to change the color on the walls?

If a wooly mammoth isn't cute, I can delete it! ;-)

At least people really liked it....

Esp. if you used a different color, even creamy neutral chairs, I wouldn't paint. Are the chairs I posted going to get too dirty?

Forest green wool can be in your art, and would seem ok with your current pillows.

@everdebz I'm afraid that chair would probably get super dirty! Haha the throw looks comfy!

Yes a fun throw....

If you keep sofa/loveseat there, a wool gold [too much for kids? idk] if you love that color.

If both jute works, and color is loved, for $150:

I love the yellow! Thanks for the ideas!

This bit of gold about looks like it could hang horizontally over sofa, etc.

I love your neutral base, beautiful floor that works well with the grays you've chosen, which are gorgeous by the way and definitely not out of style :::eye roll:::). I would say you're free to start incorporating favorite colors by bringing those in with rug, pillow, prints on the wall and decor. I love your space. Have fun pulling it all together.

Thank you @oaktonmom and iheartsix!

Here are some close up of the pillows that came with the set of couches and my TV console. I pretty much don't have a lot of style and am pretty basic. This is my first house so I am trying make it a beautiful home! I love a modern farmhouse look.

view from kitchen.
TV was put up WAY to high.. It will be lowered!

Laurie, have you gone through some pictures on Houzz? - try searching by farmhouse style, room and also narrow your search to color, either grays or creams. Color search will come up only after you've chosen style and room in your search. You will get so many beautiful pictures that will offer up lots of ideas for decor. Also - Pinterest is a good source for ideas. :)

I think once you figure out your accent colors everything will come together. If, you plan on breaking up the set, knowing your accent colors will make it easier to pick new chair colors

let's say you went with this. Just for the heck of it, let's make your walls one of the pale yellowy tones. The rest are colors you already have (or close to) with the leftovers being colors you could pick as accents.

Nothing wrong with being monochromatic. I have the same situation in my downstairs finished basement, but in sage green.

Is there any way that the chair can be angled a bit? I think that although the furniture does looks large for the space, you will appreciate having the seating and comfort of these pieces when company comes over.

Can you post the floor plan? is there any other way you can arrange the furniture?

I like Jutterri's rug suggestion.

I also like Justerri's rug and agree with eld6161' suggestion of trying another way to arrange the furniture. It does look too crowded for the space.

@justterrilyn I love that rug! where is that from?

Chair at an angle.
Thank you guys for being so sweet and friendly!

Can it be moved a bit more to the left, angled to face the sofa?

Laurie, I found the rug on the Safavieh rug site. Sorry but I had saved several rugs from there into my photo section and then eliminated a few till I was left with my personal favorite.. Now I can't find it. They have what seems like a million rugs so if you are interested you could send them the picture for a rug name.
