I harvested it, along with about 5 others for guests from about 6 countries here for a wedding... they were very much impressed.

What are they planted in ?

They are planted in decomposed volcanic soil with some local ground white rock mixed in (no perlite here). The containers are plastic/composite and quite large; so the wind doesn't blow them off the roof.

Thank you. I'm using wine barrel liners,. With drainage holes drilled . Large as I could find, but think bigger would be better. Do you know dimensions? Were they available already made?

John, can you explain why taking a photo of some of your rooftop plants undermines security? Not understanding this at all. Are they illegal?

Dave - I expect because of what he posted above - "my wife is an important and sensitive figure here; and her son is currently Minister of Finance."

I think he is in Antigua and it is possible that the trees are maintained in (probably very decorative) planters located on the portico/roof of government-owned properties.

My guess is FinMin doesn't want to show how rich he is in a country where extreme poverty is among the worst in all of Latin America.

My plants are mostly in plastic pots on the roof/terrace of my own house; and I have simply been asked, for security (however paranoid it might be) to not make public pictures of the properties. I could probably post pictures individual plants without any concern; but a photo of my whole rooftop urban forest would by necessity include more.
