It will be fine.

You cannot burn the grass with compost unless the compost is still hot...literally hot...warm to the touch. Compost should be completely finished. It should smell wonderful - like walking through the forest after a spring rain. And it should be cool or room temperature to touch. Assuming you used finished compost, it will be fine as lawniac said. The worst thing that could happen is you buried the adjacent grass under compost.

Seeding in the spring is not a good idea for 99% of the country. Where do you live? The problem is now is the time that crabgrass seed wants to germinate. When you water your new grass seed, the first grass to pop up will be crabgrass and then your grass. Further, the new grass is not immediately adapted to the summer heat while crabgrass is a hot weather annual plant.

Compost is about the weakest of organic fertilizers anyway. It takes 50 pounds of compost to equal 1 pound of organic fertilizer.
