Design Dilemma Kitchens

Radius selection for my kitchen island

Help!!!! I cannot figure out what radius to get for the granite on my kitchen island. I am getting a black leathered granite that looks like soapstone. I will have an overhand with stools so I want it softer than the rest of my kitchen which is pencil edge with a half inch radius.

Hay Marcia. Not sure what you mean by "softer" for the edge?? I would think that the pencil with a half inch radius is already nice and "soft". I think that having the same edges through out the space would have a nice consistency. You can have the round the corners of the island to make it softer and safer so you are not hitting your hip in to the corner as you walk by it.

I chose a three inch radius on the stool side. I fuess it’s common I just needed to see it...finally did and it’s ok.

I’m so sorry I missed this! I’m too late but we are happy with it. It’s easier to get up and down from the stool.
