Please help with fabric

last modified: 7 years ago

I am making a lumbar pillow from a table runner. Should I have another fabric in a different scale to coordinate with it? (Please suggest)

The bed will be all white, much like this one below. The walls are white & beige. An accent bench will be at the foot of the bed.

Here is my actual fabric:

I think something in black, to echo the other small bits of black in your decor. Maybe add some rope type trim in the green type color of your lumbar pillow.

Kootenay, I forgot to post the black highboy dresser. It's not painted yet.

Last weekend, I posted a poll as to what color it should be painted. I received 35 votes. It ended in a near draw. Black received one more vote than white.

Gorgeous choices. I probably wouldn't add any other print, but think cawaps is right on about seeing how it all looks, then decide. If you decide you want to add a bit of black on the bed, maybe just a border on the white shams.

Cawaps, Thank you for your kind words.

Originallly, we were going to do a white/beige only 10x14 room, but I wanted a bench in the guest room. Then I thought of this bench. The shiplap is on the 10 foot wall to help widen the space visually with its horizontal lines. The nightstands will have one of these ZGallerie pebbleware bowls for misc items. I had considered prints of Seaglass waves, but I haven't decided yet.

Thank you for the kind words Olychick.

I have been searching for coordinating fabric and all I can find is fabric that is too busy or either too green or too blue. You don't think I need another scale pattern? I had thought of a white and gold silk floral vine pattern

or this PF Kaufmann coral reef natural

is your runner a single layer? Often they have a solid fabric on the back. If not, I would choose a solid or a much smaller scale print or stripe for the reverse side.

    Rather be sewing,

The runner is two-sided. The back side is a solid dark background ofmthe printed side. So, I don't need another fabric for the lumbar pillow. I was inquiring as to other fabric suggestions for pillow shams. The pattern I have is not floral or geometric, but combo of both. I am uncertain as to what pattern to choose for coordinating pillows, like the ones below.

There is a touch of red in the bench, as well as gold and jade. I have not found fabric that has these colors in a smaller scale print or floral.
