Hello, we had some water leaking couple weeks before, and partial of the wood floor has water damage. We decide to change the flooring to the same travertine we have in the kitchen. Part of that wood floor is connected to the tile floor in the living room, and that is going too.

The travertine is lighter in color, as you can see in the kitchen table, it will be installed diagonally. I thought of adding some interest in the front entry way. I explore the medallion, or a stone/ border design, or a big slab of a different color or stone instead.

The door is 5 feet wide, with a 4.5ft wall, by the stair and 5.5ft wall on the other side. If I go with round medallion, will 3ft medallion be too big, or should I go with 2ft instead. Is adding medallion too much for the house?

I love the dark color of slate, but not sure if it's going to work with the lighter color travertine.

If doing a inner square border, I'm worry that it will look odd.

I have about a week, as floor will be install after July 4th weekend. So, I will need to to source for material or order online if need to. Or should I just do nothing?
