Interesting question...a puzzle, really. I see that your wall (left?) is staggered and thus if you stack the ground tiles into a grid against it it might look odd. If you are going for a contemporary look I would stay stacked (as is). All best!

Thanks for your advice all, but the BBQ wall is not complete yet. They still are going to lay tile over it. And I guess staggered or stacked on the BBQ will depend on the floor.

This is my front walkway and front patio. Wondering if it's strange if I stagger the tile on the patio, but stack it on the walkway....or should they be the same? Also wondering if it has to be the same as the backyard?

Square tile should not be staggered, in my opinion. That's for rectangular tile.

Is that bluestone? or a tile? Looks great, you should post the completed photo.

I know this is an old post---what is the width of the spacers? What would you recommend for large bluestone slabs like this? I will be using polymeric sand in between and was told there can be up to 1/2 inch spaces

What color sand did you use between pavers? Looks nice
