That looks great. May and June are so nice in the garden. So great to have sun after all our winter blahs. Your garden is gorgeous.

You might want to add some evergreen plants to the back and sides so there is more interest and structure during the winter.

Thanks for posting this, juniorballon. - I have been an obsessed gardener for 40 years and still have a difficult time believing the transition from March to May. I have,though, made progress accepting the “ugh” factor of winter and early spring in my too large garden. The conifers and grasses save me from having to totally avert my eyes but there is no getting around the brown, untidy landscape. But don’t you think this intensifies the wonder of the full out, glorious bounty that comes?

I do indeed. I leave most of the dead stems and leaves, the seeds feed the birds and the leaves hold down the weeds, until late winter. I know it would look tidier, but I appreciate the benefits of patience and know that the show is coming. But like you said, Still find it amazing and wonder-filled. I think that people that can feel the wonder the way we do is the reason we are gardeners. I show some of these photos to coworkers and they say, "Ugh that looks like work." To me it looks like opportunity.
