yes it will sort itself out..

and short of redigging it.. which i dont recommend... there is nothing you can do about it ...

also.. remove the stakes you have now .... they are useless for the height of the tree ... and in a severe wind storm.. its more likely to snap at the connection .... then do anything for the tree ... trees are supposed to blow in the wind ....

stakes are just for the first year .. so the root ball doesnt move.. and with a maple.. i would presume the roots are well on their way to world domination a year and a half after planting .. lol ..

this would have probably avoided.. if you had selected a better somewhat smaller specimen ...

looks like a fert'd lawn.. do not ever double up fert on the tree ... it will get more than enough from the lawn ... and the only mention that ... because i wonder if you fed it.. causing the excessive growth you speculate about ...

I have never given the tree itself fertilizer of Amy kind. I have 4 of these that have been planted within the last 2.5 years, all at about the same size. All seem to be thriving but this is the only one that is slightly bowed.

3 out of 4 straight, not bad. Perfectly straight trees is not the norm.

And once the tree increases in age, it can take a less symmetrical appearance, even if it was once straight or vice versa.

I agree with 'not much you can do' at this stage.

My autumn blaze maple tree is growing the same way, did yours ever straighten itself out?
