Autumn blaze maple crooked/bowed

last modified: 8 years ago

This Autumn Blaze Maple was planted in the fall of 2016 – roughly a year and a half ago. As you can see, the lower portion of the trunk is very straight, yet the top is growing slightly crooked/bowed. The tree is thriving and my initial thought was that the rapid growth made it top-heavy, causing it to lean towards the west. Do you think this will sort itself out or should I take additional

measures to encourage a more upright growth habit? Thanks for any help you can provide.
