Looking for answers on Maple tree.

For the last three years our Maple tree hasn't been leafing out in the center of the tree. The maple tree used to fill out so much we couldn't see through it, but now its a different story and I am unsure why. Hoping someone can shed some light as to why this is happening. Worried I'm going to lose our beautiful Maple tree in the front of our home.

Sometimes lower or interior branches will naturally die back as the tree grows and they get less light.

Personally, I prefer a more open canopy anyway where I can appreciate the branch structure, plus you can grow certain plants underneath.
