We are coming up from southwestern CT for the first time. What else is there is the area? Newport will be too crowded. Maybe head to some antique New Bedford. Anyone ever go to Tiverton Four Corners?

Jamestown is nice. The town is nice and also you go to Beavertail and sit on the rocks where you can see Newport in one direction and the mainland in the other, listening to the waves crashing on the rocks below the lighthouse. In Middletown Sachuest wildlife sanctuary has two nice trails along the cliff tops. Easy and level walk, one shorter and one longer. Wickford is a great quaint town with lots of art and antique dealers. Nice restaurants too. *** Cash only for entry to Sakonnet Gardens, at least that's how it was last two times I went. We're planning to go to Sakonnet late morning Sat, then hit Sakonnet Beach Club with a friend who's got a membership. Hoping for good weather! We should all have Gardenweb New England hats or something to spot one another.
