Certainteed Siding Colors

Hello all,

my my husband and I are wanting to go with a modern farmhouse look. Exterior color a white but not colonial white. We are choosing from CertainTeed Siding or Georgia pacific. I am stuck on options but snow, pearl, and sandstone beige all seem to be within the color reel. Want to get this right to make the look of our house like those in the pictures. We don’t want the house to be “white white” and don’t want the pull of yellows to come through on the siding.

Thanks in in advance for any help. If you have photos of homes with the siding recommendations that would be wonderful.

Do not select colors off a computer screen.

Obtain samples of the colors CertainTeed and Georgia Pacific offer, take them to your site, hold each sample in the vertical position, and determine which one you like the best.

Yes. Samples. Bigger samples than the little chips. Then go do this. And look at it in different lights/times of day.

I checked both vendors and I don’t see a color in either brand to meet your goals. If you use a Hardi board product you can paint it the color you want.

Thank you all for the help! We have now ordered larger samples. Will do these and look into the Hardi board. Have you had good luck with it?

Oh yes Hardi plank is great. That is brand name. It is a cement product and has to be installed properly but looks just like siding. I have it on portions of our home and it is like new and 11 years old! Never needed painting just power washing every couple years. It is generically called “cementious” siding. Check it out.

What did you end up deciding? I am trying to decide between certainteed colors for a modern farmhouse and I am thinking I will go with snow, but curious to know what you went with!

Going down this same road now, what was the verdict? Can you share some final pics?

Lauren Pluschke - thanks for sharing your photo - looks great! Why did you decide against Snow, if you dont mind my asking. I'm also trying to decide between Colonial White and Snow but don't have big samples so any insight you have would be appreciated. Also what color did you paint the brick? Thank you!

Im trying to decide now between snow and sandstone beige. I really don’t want any yellow. What made you choose Colonial White?

These are loading in terrible color so maybe this was a bad idea. I drove by three in colonial white and this one in snow. I was told colonial is bright white (which it definitely is, but crisp and clean and not blinding), and snow is more grey undertone. I actually really like it in person and wouldnt be able to tell the difference between the whites honestly. I will update when i get pictures of the other in snow.

Hi any updated photos on houses done in snow?

The thing I noticed about snow when I drove by houses, is that white trim or garage doors will not match. The whites really clashed. I went with colonial white and cannot believe what a perfect beautiful creamy white it is. I expected it to be more crisp and stark and its not. However its not yellow either. Happy to say after struggling between snow and colonial that I am very happy I choose colonial. Hope that helps.

Just adding that we chose Certainteed Colonial White for our own home renovation and are very happy with the result. We have two extra brand new boxes (8” wide, Colonial white, 1 box 10’, 1 box 12’-6”) that we're trying to sell if anyone is local to Westchester, NY area. Reach out if interested!
