Ken would tell you to dig it up, throw it on the driveway, separate it from the daffodils, then replant it. It will be fine.

Thanks, Sunny -- that's exactly what Ken would tell me, I'm sure! And that's what I'll do, altho perhaps skipping the driveway part this time, lol. (In the past, I have dug hosta and left them sitting on top of the soil over Massachusetts winters, and had them survive. Of course, they were definitely happier once I put them in the ground!)

it had to have been there last year ... there is no possible scenario where it could have stayed dormant for a whole season ...

without annual pix.. its hard to say if its gaining on maturity ... but i doubt it has made significant strides in that regard ...

i am also wondering if it is really the daffs causing the issues ..
