I would do a dark colored garage door. You need to decide if you're going to pull cool tone grays or warm tone browns out of that rock on the house And then I would use the same color and put up shutters on the windows to help hide some of that rock on the house.

I don't think you have room for properly scaled shutters, especially in some of the corner areas. We can't see your front door. Sometimes that impacts on what you want to do with the garage door. I think I might be inclined toward wood or wood tone on both garage and entry. It will distract from the over-abundance of stone. You should consider painting the garage siding to match the stone though. It looks to be stuck on as an afterthought right now.

Thank you ! If I use grays, what color should I pick for the roof (when we replace it) and for the wood molding ? Right now all the molding is ivory except for the trim on the garage door which is taupe, the same color as the garage door.

Oh the wood does look beautiful on these pictures ! I agree that there's not a lot of space for shutters

The garage siding is the same color as the side and the rear of the house. Its an ivory color, which is the same color as on our wood molding. You don't think the wood garage doors will make the entire house look much darker ?

IMO the last one would work if the garage siding were one of the gray stone colors. The other 3 don't work with gray. Refer back to deco's photo shopped doors.

Also consider shaping your tree professionally, which is hiding the beautiful stone façade and shaping up the rest of the yard. Your house is beautiful, but the landscaping detracts from it.

The only problem with changing the garage siding color is that we'll have to paint over the entire siding which extends the sides as well as the rear. And how shld we think about the roof then ? Similar to what it is now or a different kind ?

So playing along with some color, is this closer to what you'd advise ? They're both wood finish doors, with gray siding and slate roof. Or do you think I'm better off staying with the existing color scheme ?

A slate roof (made of slate) is just adding more stone. I'd keep things lighter on the roof. Wood doors on entry and garage though.

yes you're right, but a darker roof with more tones of charcoal instead of the brown it is now ? and with the wood garage doors, the siding in a shade of gray ? with the trim a darker gray ?

Use the darkest color in your stone and then search for a darker shade of that for the roof color. What color is the mortar? Can you take a close up of the stone?

I'd use the chocolate stone for the roof color. If that blue stone is actually blue (as on my monitor) you could go with a blue roof. More classic would be the chocolate or a mocha though.
