Flooring Design Dilemma Hall

Wood and tile transition

We are currently building a house and plan to put wood flooring in the main living areas and bedrooms. On either side of the main living area are hallways leading to the bedrooms. I am wondering about possibly using travertine in the hallways. Would that look weird?

I think it would chop up the flow and would use the same wood flooring as you are using in the rest of the house. JMO

It would chop up the flow, and I can't think of any reasons for tiling just a hallway.
