Seam and Imperfection on Quartz...Acceptable?

We have a huge quartz island (Vicostone Carrara) in our new-build. I just noticed today that there is a small imperfection at the edge of the counter at the seam. It appears that it is a chip that was repaired? It feels smooth, and to be honest, I just noticed it today and have been there for the past five days. This picture is magnified, but you can also see a jagged area at the seam. Would this be acceptable to you? And can it be repaired at all without replacing the whole slab? Thanks!

Linda, because she said it's a huge island, so I'm guessing they didn't have a slab large enough?

court,,,i've seen worse, but I've seen better. have you spoken to anyone about this? the fabricator, the GC, builder rep,,,?

Can you take a picture from a bit further away - as if you are standing and looking down at the seam?

Why wouldn’t they use one solid slab? I would not be happy with this unless I got on the discount.

Yes, the island is 12' and the seam is right through the middle (and the sink). I spoke to the project manager and he was going to investigate. Just wondering what the options are before I talk to him tomorrow.

well, I would suspect you should have a slab that is free of defects. but zooming in on something always makes it look worse. so take a pic from normal height and looking at the island. lets see how it looks on a regular sight-line

I'd give them a shot at a do-over.

Were I the fabricator, I'd pull the top, recut the seam and sink cut out and hope you didn't notice the island was a 1/2" shorter.
