What about sidelights?

What do you mean by fake windows? Post a layout we need some more info

I'm not sure I fully understand. Do you mean that the interior entry does not have room for sidelites on either side of the door, however, the exterior sides of the door do have room for faux windows to sit on the exterior plane of the home??

If you ended up putting in fake sidelights, can you tell me if you were happy with the finished look and maybe post a photo. I have been considering doing this for years. I don't have room inside for sidelights, but my exterior door is small for the front of the house. Thanks.

Hello - I am researching and thinking of doing fake side lights on my front entry door. A project such as replacing the door with a new one with side lights is just too much mess and money right now. I found some reflective window film and some etched glass window film and I imagine the project turning out like THIS.

If I ever finish it I'll post a photo.

I have the same problem.

The paneling in the above door looks far better, to my eyes, than the fake ornamental windows in the After photo. The paneling looks custom. Lovely. How is this a “problem”?

For me, I currently only have a single entry door. Structurally, I am unable to have true sidelights. I was thinking some type of fake sidelights may work. Style would be - smaller “frosted” window on top and paneled on the bottom.

Do you need more light in your entrance? If so, perhaps a new entrance door can provide you with more light. Why not post a photo of your front entrance, and of the front of your home? You will get better advice on how to enhance your entrance, solve your issues, etc.
