Design Dilemma Kitchens

Kitchen islands

Am considering putting 2 islands side by side in my kitchen, One would contain a sink and the other would be for seating and storage and would be adjacent to an open family room, Each island will be 8-9' in length but not sure of minimum required width in addition to space required between the two islands. Know I need around 40-42"between cabinets/range and one of the islands. Any suggestions?

Don’t. It’s dysfunctional and silly unless the kitchen is 900sf and you like wearing roller skates for laps.

I think a nice big table in that position is nicer than a second island. Of course there is a loss of storage that way. Perhaps you could add a buffet to make up for the loss.
