Needed Garden/Landscape Ideas

I'm attempting to turn my sectioned area into a garden/retreat area. tThe dirt ground is covered with wood mulch and black tarp separating the two. I'd like for there to be some type of stone path leading through. All ideas are welcome including plating ideas or general layout altogether. Help plz !

it was originally made to be a play area and to keep the dogs out of it.
