I'm enjoying it except that hanging wash out is a problem. Colors are more vivid when there's less contrast and UV was low so I could be outside in the middle of the day. Sadly there have been 2 bright days in a row here in Ventura County.

We've been having coastal fog in the morning, but by afternoon it has reached 68 to 70 and has been sunny. I do not crave sunny weather, although when I was in Venice, it was quite a bit gloomier than where I am now, almost three miles from the beach. In Venice, I was only blocks from the beach, and it stayed quite cool through the summer - until September.

You'll probably get enough hot weather in September and October.

I remember heavy rain in San Francisco on Memorial Day.

Up here it was 5 days in a row with no sun,just fog and 8 days of "mostly cloudy" in total. Almost 10f below average.

I'm ready for the manure spreading warm weather. Everything right now has been on hold. Well,the less need for watering is nice...

I've been calling it A May-zing May! I am loving it so much, you don't even know. I am probably further inland and love the respite before it goes inferno up in here. Sugar snaps and sweet peas still going!

I have loved this May in the LA area. We actually got a little rain, and everything is growing so well... Makes up a bit for such a dry winter.

85F Today...then tails off to 75f tomorrow they say, and then back to low 60's and fog for two days. I tell you on a scale of ten,this has been a 2 May.

DD lives in northernmost San Mateo, but works in downtown SF -- she's been bemoaning the extended chill, wishing for warmer weather. I told her I'd gladly swap our 100-degree, late May TX weather for hers any day. Funny thing, we separately ended up bugging down/over to L.A. and found the happiest middle ground (Mother's Day and Memorial Day weekends).

I heard that the waters of the Pacific here are running at 52f. That's a huge impact on our cool spring. I've never felt warm ocean waters in my life. Must be a nice thing!

Things are growing- I have lots of green cherry tomatoes already formed. But the light levels are worse then the temps when it gets gloomy..and tomorrow one more gloomy day.

stanofh: Warm 'ocean' waters are not a nice thing when the air temp is in the 90s and one wishes to dip a toe to refresh oneself, only to find the water (Gulf of Mexico, for me now) warmer than bath water. Blecch. I miss my SoCal beaches, but the fishing's better here. :)

Javiwa..the closest I came come to think of it,was wading in the shallows of the SF bay near the south bay's flats. It might have been 70's in late summer. That's where the world famous Leopard sharks ( bottom feeders and harmless) use as a nursery.

Today? Aghhh,they say low 60's..then summer gets going after one day of wind blown fog.

What we put up with to almost never need home air con. Or,mosquito netting.
