Terracing your slope with thick flagstone and creating a rock garden would look very good. Nice house -The style of your home looks almost like an American Foursquare but without the traditional colors and porch. Depending upon your garden zone I would plant a mixture of low-growing broadleaf evergreens such as azaleas that are evergreen all year and bloom in the Spring, dwarf ornamental grasses, Japanese rock garden juniper which is evergreen and only reaches less than a foot high , and other rock garden plants that you can get advice on at your local garden center . Bergenia is one I like as well as pinks, coreopsis, brunnera, coral bells, sedges, sedum, etc. Can't see the sides of your house but if you have room for a small ornamental blooming tree such as redbud or dogwood that would add to your curb appeal .
