Thanks. I bought standard impatiens and there's a BIG difference.

Oh, be careful with regular impatiens! For several years now, they have been infected with a nasty mildew that kills the plants fairly rapidly. No known cure or preventative yet, tho there is work on this being done. Truly reputable sellers are not offering regular impatiens at all. The New Guinea type is immune and is safe to plant, thank goodness. And I found a new hybrid whose name escapes me right now that is supposed to be safe also.

So, you may or may not have problems with your regular impatiens, but it is very likely that you will. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

These are Sunpatiens. I love them! They are getting easier and easier to find each year. I had to order them the first year I wanted them, then my local hardware store stocked a couple colors. This year, I walked to the corner bodega and saw some on display next to the front door!
