Beautiful! I’m just now getting ready to do the mulching... weeding, planting, edging, etc. I actually love doing this part, but don’t so much love spreading mulch, especially when it’s as hot as it is right now. It took forever for spring to arrive, and now we’re having temps in the 90s.

Jim- your garden looks great standing back, as in the first photo, as well as up close with the individual plants!!!

Spreading mulch can be a bit of a chore, especially after 9am on a hot day, but the end result is SO rewarding! Thanks for the boost Jim. Your gardens are inspiring.

Yes Jo. 5 weeks ago we had 12cm of ice pellets and 2mm of freezing rain. The growth had exploded in the last 2 weeks.

Yes, mulching is hard sweaty work. I only do it every 2 years

Very lovely after a lot of work--I am just starting to feed and mulch. It's very humid and in the upper 80's here--we went from cool temperatures directly into heat and humidity. Wish I had time earlier to get out there and work--your hostas look wonderful.

Just lovely. Well, you shamed me into it. Just returned from Lowes where they had my favorite plain dark brown mulch on sale for $2 a bag. I really felt sorry for the two young men who loaded my pickup. It was 98 degrees at the time.

I'll wait till early tomorrow to unload and spread it.

World Cup is starting to grow (ha ha) on me. I got it a few years ago at Keene Gardens just outside of Peterborough. I don't collect hoty specifically, although I have a few of them.

For hosta of the year it doesn' t seem to be as readily available as most of the others. It reminds me a lot of my Gentle Giant ( except it's yellow, and smaller)
