Those are small branches, i would not keep more than one apple per branch. and yes, you can just snip off the fruits that you don't want. Thinning this way is strongly recommended so that you get bigger more flavorful fruit as well.

Another question. Can someone look at these apples and let me know how to treat this. I’m not sure if it’s codling moths or rust? I sprayed with neem oil as a preventative. I also have Soap-Shield but I think the copper is not good for fruiting trees????? Thanks for any advice.

These leaves are starting to worry me. Hopefully I am just paranoid. They are curling and more and more are getting the yellow coloring like in the picture. Any suggestions on treatment?? some clusters of leaves are dying off.

In the last picture the small apples are turning red. Is that normal or are they ripening too early?

Oh no, so sorry for your tree, Rick! I was reading and following your thread from the day you posted it. It all happened that fast? Are both trees affected? Hopefully someone experienced will chime in.

Yes it happened very quick. The pixie hasn’t been affected yet. It is looking decent so far. Just the issues mentioned earlier. But without a pollinator it is useless. Under Gurneys description for the Gala I now notice is says that it is “very susceptible to Fire blight” I do t recall seeing that when it was called lil big. I think I am going to dig out the Gala since it is garbage now.
