I can see webs in the 3rd to last pic, but it doesn't look like the webbing I've seen mites do. The trees could just be totally stressed. Have they been watered enough? and what size pots are they in?!

If mites and the mite issue is now controlled, I would think they would eventually re-leaf. Did you scratch the bark and see if the cambium layer is still green?

Since the trees are in pots and you are in NY, I have to ask how/where you overwintered them? I just want to rule out winter root injury. Your photos remind me of fruit trees I see around here if left from last year and did not sell. If left out all winter and the roots not properly protected, the trees will flower and then shrivel up the following spring. Problem is winter cold damaging the roots. I presume you overwintered in an insulated garage or buried the pots in the ground for the winter?

They are in the biggest plastic pots HD had available. I will scratch the bark and report. They spent winter in my garage but unheated with some other plants.

No they I took them out of the garage still dormant.

What size are the "biggest available?"

Our in ground pear and cherry trees did the same thing as yours. Turns out, it was just lack of water that caused the die off. We flooded the ground and now all the trees seem much happier.

Good to hear I did scratch the barks and most parts are still alive but some edges are dead. My one in ground is sick also but with a different issue, it has sap at every branch.

It's probably because you tried to grow them in containers.

Fruits like these are not drought tolerant, and it's very important to use soil that retains water very well and to keep them consistently watered. Fruit trees generally do much better in the ground because their root systems have plenty of space to help ensure the tree doesn't dry out.

In the retail nurseries, they have somebody come out with a hose and water all the trees almost every day, or they keep them in partial shade.
