discontinued tile transition

hi, I am needing to get rid of my nasty powder room CARPET. and wondering what I should replace with. powder room opens to hallway that has 12x12 tile which is discontinued by mfr. so i cant continue with that tile to the powder room. should i try to match? if no, would LVP be ok? is it possible to coordinate 2 diff types of tile? i have engineered hw in remainder of house. but want to use something easy to maintain and clean in the Powder since its used frequently by guests. thanks in advance.

NOT a pro but I would consider penny tile or mosaic if it were mine. Maybe a pro can chime in.

No to LVP. You want a floor that is the same thickness as the existing tile, and LVP is thinner. You could build it up and use LVP, I guess, but don't. Put a deliberately different tile in there so that there is no level difference.

Exactly how much of the discontinued tile already exists in your home? A mud area? An entire first floor? Are you over crawl or basement? Could it be replaced? Too much to replace?

And worrying on what stays "clean" ??! You have carpet my dear. Anything is an improvement. Losing the wood toilet seat ? A bonus!

Show the entire powder room too, via another photo.

thank you to all the suggestions! didnt think of a smaller format tile in another color, that seems to be an easy route that will give me some cool options. ill remember to match grout. to answer, the existing tile is in a long open hallway and entryway, here are more pictures. its a small powder so hard to even get a full picture. im going to get rid of the soffit in the bathroom. gonna peruse houz with all your suggestions in mind.

I would paint or replace vanity and countertop. Then use this tile on floor. Black and whites in this room would work well. Large prints make small spaces feel bigger!

Add cute or dramatic print in black and white.

@flo, funny you should mention black and white, that is what im putting in for my kitchen backsplash. the tiles you suggested are cement tiles? i love those. ill look at those too. i also like the penny tile idea and immediately was attracted to these black or blue ones... hmmm. hard to choose.

Here is rough mock up to inspire some changes. You can watch Craiglist for vanities or paint the one you have. The tile countertop needs to be replaced. You can get bargains everywhere for granite or laminated countertops for fresh look.

I think penny tiles are problematic for flooring because they require lots of grout and would not be stable at a threshold. Sorry i would avoid that approach.

wow, thank s for the mock up! love the chic look. would you say the vanity is a grey color? what are your guys thoughts on repurposed dressers/chest of drawers for vanities? would that look work with the suggestions so far? if i were to just repaint, what color in a B/w scheme? and if i were to use blue penny tiles? thanks again. i appreciate you r expertise. (heres an example of dresser off craigslist, 130 bucks! although might be more of a pain to DIY. sorry im all over the place, i need help zeroing in)

@flo mangan, just saw your note about penny tiles and grout. thanks for heads up.

you could have a threshold installed for the penny tiles to rest against. i prefer hex myself but either would look good for you.
