Need suggestions on updating spare bedroom!,

I have this spare bedroom that I’d like to change out bedding, curtains, and accessories. Furniture and carpeting are staying. Walls are creamy white and carpeting light camel beige. I would like room darkening panels, preferably more neutral giving me more options on changing the bedding ( although from the past I guess I really don’t do that). I’ve enclosed a pic of a custom made duvet I have and thought maybe I could use it?.. I would need a bed skirt though. Would love suggestions!

What about the large space than on the right size, will be even larger?
Good morning! I guess I’m ready to move furniture again. Julie, if you think that’s the way to go? I understand that changing the chest to the left side will look better to fill space (43” chest/62”wall), but can’t visualize table on right side with empty 3ft on wall??? I’m planning on doing a little shopping today - will check out our only local stores: pier 1 and target for lamps and art. Suggestions for lamps ht./color/style??

Hi Linda, amazed at all the work you're doing. Looking good.

Just wanted to say I had the same thought when I first saw dresser and round table as nightstands - that they should be switched. Hope you give it a try.

Lamps around 26” give or take..I would look for something with a larger bottom with round table would keep shade round...but of course if you find something you love...just post a image:) heading to the airport soon....will check in later...have fun shopping..look for the pillows and art I had suggested see what you think!

you could try your stand up mirror on the right side next to round nightstand.

Like the area rug at the foot of the bed. Perhaps the blue color in that could serve as inspiration and you could keep the rug.

No luck today with lamps. The art fro pier 1 cannot be shipped to my area, pillows in stock - will wait until I find the art. Did see this option at hobby lobby, did not know if it was worth bringing home?

Maybe spray paint the brass bed ? The duvet is good and neutral black out panels good idea,

Hi Linda Where did buy your drapes from?

I moved the furniture, did place the mirror next to table to fill in the space. I decided to go back and pick up the art. I think it might work - shows better in person than in photos. Planning on a road trip to the closest home goods tomorrow; an hour away to look for lamps and ???? BTW MARY, I found the drapes @ Hobby Lobby!

I’m back from shopping and I could not have done it without Julie, thank goodness for Houzz,! New lamps, boxes, throw, pillow and art. ( which is leaning on the chair/invisible and box) - I definitely need to visualize. Thoughts? Tweeking? ( still needed fabric for chair cover/for desk area, glass top. AND?

Omg everything works really well...ok time to tweak!

    1. fold duvet down about 1/3 of bed length....
    2. put the two matching pillows closer together so that the accent pillow layers over the two of them slightly.
    3. i would not keep the large art it is a bit to dark
    4. take the flower art and hang them between the windows
    5. love the lamps
    1. love the boxes

    7. put throw about a foot from end of bed

Got it! Only thing is the art honestly is not dark, actually very light has Dick wide brush strokes of bright yellow blush shades of blue, so it is not flat the only dark area is where it shows the blue gray which is the color of the lamps mainly down in the left corner.

Linda....Your final touches turned out great! Where did you find the boxes? I have been trying to find some locally and haven’t had any luck.
The mic doesn’t work well with my voice. I meant thick brush 3D strokes, has yellow, white, and the “it color” Blush! If I remember correctly the middle of the art should be 60” from floor? What about the set of 2? 4” apart, same middle of toTal ht 60”? Will hit HL tomorrow for chair fabric - color or textured beige????

Between 62”-65” for middle of art same with set ..place them about 3” apart and the space between them should be between 62”-65”..whatever height is comfortable for you visually.

Fantastic! This is my favorite kind of thread, watching a room evolve into a lovely space with collaboration. One question, what happened to the wicker trunk? Did I miss a post where you decided not to use it?

Did u meant paint wall of shelves at desk? Is that going to be a vanity with mirror/desk?

Just saw this thread today and loved it ..
The change in this room is AMAZING!! Great job all...
Yes, I’m going to paint the shelves and drawers a cream color. Then will display a few books and family photos. I may not use all the shelves.

If you pant the brackets as well, it will help them disappear a bit.

Views of backyard, thoughts about color of pole for new umbrella? Will bronze be okay?
I would strongly that you move the small milking stool away from the door. It presents a significant tripping hazard.

Yes to your question. So lovely!!

Linda I think the black pole and with the bright white and blue stripe will look very nice with the white table..love high contrast...add a couple black pots with blue or lavender flowers.

Thank you, in the back is a pond with island that the kids and now our grandkids paddle boat around in the summer and ice skate in winter
