kitchen bench top help

Help. Our daughter and her husband are about to move into their new house and they have just discovered there is damage to the kitchen benchtops that must have occurred during the cleanup. Looks like straight bleach has been dropped onto the benchtop. What can they do that won't cost a fortune?

If it has been bleached out you are not going to be able to get it back to the original look. Melamine tops are generally not overly expensive to replace.

Did they build this house? Did they hire a cleaning service? If this is an existing home, this may have been there and just missed. If they built then they need to go back to the builder or the service that did the cleaning to get repairs done. I wouldn't think bleach would do this to a laminate unless it was allowed to sit for a long period of time. Rustoleum makes a repair for counter tops. It is a tintable product with 16 color choices. Good luck!
