No black, no one would ever be able to find the door handles! Depends on how much of a contrast you want, chrome would be shiner but nickel is softer. Alternatively, you could use a warm metal for a really nice contrast.

Just a word of warning, a glossy black door is more prone to showing fingerprints, dust, smudges, and hand prints. Just be ready!

Just do them in a semi-gloss instead of a high gloss if you want them to stay looking beautiful without the maintenance

Fairway TY, I plan on an oil brushed, maybe just a semi gloss as recommended. Or should I go High Gloss.

IMO it depends on the rest of your space as far as style is concerned for the gloss but I would either do brushed nicel or a soft brass hardware again depending on your style.

Patricia The dining and formal living room will be white wall, trim and white sofa and some black and white chairs. I haven't decided on accent color yet if any. The tray in the ceilings will be black lacquer as the are 16 foot and drop to 14. These are the chairs
