Jayapple, my choice may surprise you. I really really wanted reclaimed oiled flooring. But, that was never in my price range. I live in WI with dogs and cats, as well. That scared me. I could see them getting ruined in no time. So, I went with Mohawk's Artiquity line and I love them.

You can see them pretty well here. I love the warmth of the color, the variation, the long planks, and the matte finish. Everything. And, to top it all off, they are a breeze to install.

Thank you, Karen. Your kindness is appreciated.

    Of course, Wendy!

Your wood floors are absolutely gorgeous. Unless I was dreaming this, I remember you finishing your kitchen and I remember loving the sink and hardware you ended up choosing.

Do you have an updated picture of your finished kitchen? Would love to see it when you have chance. No hurry, though, really!

    Thanks, Karen.

No, the kitchen is not done. Every thing came to a screeching halt. You probably saw partly done pics.

The reason I am doing the bedroom is because the hubby was rear ended waiting to pull into the driveway a couple of weeks ago. He had to have cervical spine surgery and has been staying in the living room. Now that he is a bit recovered, but still staying there, I figured I would get the flooring, painting, and some of trim done. That way the only one I'm inconveniencing is me. I'm hoping to have it done before he can sleep in the BR again.

Here is my ideabook that has pretty much everything in it. You have to scroll down pretty far to get to the kitchen.

Thanks for sharing your IB, Wendy. I really enjoyed strolling through it. Your living room and kitchen look awesome.

Sorry to hear about OH and his back injury. Makes sense that this would be a good time to get the bedroom finished.

Love the above combination. It has a very eclectic feel to it-similar to what seems to appeal to you.

Is that the chandelier that you ordered, btw? From my understanding, you already have the bed, table, and chandelier, but are still trying to make a decision on the chair.

Good morning Wendy... hope everything works out with the chandelier.

Wendy, I just saw your comment, sorry to hear about your husband. Mine also had cervical surgery... rear ended by a dump truck. I understand not being finished... you have a lot going on. I wish I was closer, I would love to give you a hand... I hope someone will help you out, that's a lot of work.

Thinking of you and OH ... prayers for you. Xo

Karen and Zaz, thank you. He is going to be okay. sorry to hear about your's, Zaz.

Yes, that is the chandelier. I'm waiting to hear back from them We both love it with the bed. One o, I a replacing the doorsf the tables is on order. Should be here Tuesday.

Here is the thing, I am replacing the existing doors with a pair of antique glass French doors. Keeping that in mind, if we go with an over-sized chair, this will have to be the layout. The pink, not the pencil sketch. I'm not opposed to this layout. The second door essentially becomes an extension of the wall, one is always shut anyways. And when you look up towards the room, you would see the chair, then the chandelier & bed just beyond through that door. It would probably be a very pretty picture. Thoughts?

I a sorry to learn your husband had to go through surgery but seems to be progressing nicely. I remember when you were doing the the living room. I like the chair option you posted this morning to go with the other items you love.

Yes, I like that idea... :)

You're welcome about the flowers, don't mention it... :)

Thanks btw, and I'm glad to hear your OH is doing ok.

I've seen that colorful chair offered in various patterns and have always thought it was an amazing idea but it does kind of cry out, "look at me". I think you'd have to come up with something else in the room to balance it out - maybe pillows on the bed, a colored lamp on the table, or some bright art work on a far wall....a fun problem to solve.

The arrangement in your bedroom looks really nice. Looking forward to seeing the progress.

Wendy, I'm sorry to hear that you've had a rough couple of years, but glad that things are looking up a bit. Except for hubby's recent accident. Yikes. That's great that he's recovering though.

After spending lots of time in your previous thread(s?) and watching your kitchen and LR evolve I'm more than confident in your ability to pull off something equally amazing in your BR so I don't question your vision. My favorite chair you've posted was the egg, but I know how pricey that is. UGH. The patchwork chair is fun. If you went with that would you pick up a bit of some of those colors elsewhere in the room? I'm glad the chandelier is a success. I hope you get a replacement soon. Love the idea of antique doors.

Your sense of style has always been one of my favorites here so I'm selfishly glad you're back. Now if only Stef would make a comeback, my little Houzz heart would feel complete!

Thank you, everyone. I appreciate the kind thoughts and well wishes.

I also appreciate your thoughts about the chair options.

Jayapple, I'm not sure that I would add more color. If I were to, it would probably be in a rug.

Karen, yes. I have the doors. They rally aren't all that special, except to me. They are from my old house, which I adored. I took the doors for sentimental reasons.

Jill, I heard back fro the this morning. Hopefully the chandelier proble will be resolved quickly. (looking forward to pics of our home, btw, you have such great taste and style)

As far as adding ore color, I'd probably go with a combination similar to this. Rug only under the 2 bed legs closest to the chair:

Wendy, I forgot to mention before... Did you decide how you want to frame the artwork? I like the idea of thin traditional gold leaf frames. I love that juxtaposition in styles. They are both good options though.
    Wendy thanked jillwk

Frames... something similar to the chain on the chandelier ... Is it gold? If so, I agree with Jill. :)

I like the board, it's you... I would do a longer pillow on the bed. I know they did have cute ones at Anthro. Not sure what they have now though...

Throw some sweet flowers from your garden on the table... and you're set, done! Lol ;)

    Thank you, all.

Jill & Zaz, I agree thin gold frames will be perfect, I think...

Well, I'm waiting to hear back from "Anna" at customer service. While we are waiting, here is how it looks size-wise. I am SO tempted to get a huge ceiling medallion, paint it gold and put it above the fixture. (waiting on table) & (ignore this side of the ceiling, still needs a second coat of paint)

Wendy! I’m so glad to find you— this thread wasn’t showing up in my history for whatever reason... I wanted to thank you for your gracious response to my question about the barbed wire art. I appreciate your explanation and am grateful to have my horizons expanded a tiny bit. Your house is lovely! I’m drooling over all those windows in your kitchen.

It looks amazing, Wendy, and I LOVE the 4 legged accessory on your bed. Adds a little bit of something special to the room :-)

Your bed, the floors, and the fixture are all beautiful, too. A huge gold ceiling medallion would look terrific and would only add more character and charm to your space. You really do have a great sense of style.

The room is looking great, Wendy! Awesome chandelier and the table looks really good with the bed. Yes to a ceiling medallion! I wonder what a pink one would look like? That could be fun too in just the right color pink, like an antique pink with maybe a bit of gold.

Yep Tgb1, you could say that...

Wendy, any luck with that beautiful chandelier?

Hey, everyone! Sorry for being gone. I try to disconnect for a fews days at a time. Otherwise, i tend to get sucked into the internet abyss.

Jayapple, lol. She is a sweetie. Thank you.

Ackcx, glad you found us. And, thank you. I really do enjoy having those windows in the kitchen.

Karen, thank you. More to come about the 4-legged bed accessory.

Tgb, thanks. Th rug is from urban outfitters, reasonably priced.

Zaz, thanks ton. I have a medallion. I have to dig it out and see how big it.

Jill, I LOVE those muted antique pinks. Maybe, one of these days, I'll look for and have the guts to post a pic of my obnoxious shabby chic LR, from my old house, lol. Lotsa old pinks.

glschisler, that chair is gorgeous! And, that is the exact pink. I have a pair of pillow covers that are very similar, but pink and cream.

    Hollybar, lol. Thank you.

Barncatz, good to see you. And, thank you.

Jturner, you're welcome and thank you. Each plank is 7.5 x 72. The color is caramel.

So.....my gorgeous, sweet, loving 4-legged bed accessory chewed on the leg of my bed. (Iwanted to cry.) The fixture is finally on it's way back to the vendor for an exchange. And, I thought the chair had sold, but it appears to back again. It is highly doubtful that I will have the money saved before it actually does sell, but I will hope anyways.

And I have some boring pics. Been working on the trim a little.

This is the original trim. The first is door trim example. The second is an example of window trim and how they painted them. I should have taken a pic before I started to remove trim, but forgot. But, you'll get the idea. (insert big gigantic eye roll here)
