I love it... stunning!

i like what i'm seeing, what i dont know is what 'knotty alder' does over a large range of cabinets... as in... will a large area of it look busy? the floor and counter are bringing a lot to the picnic... you'll want cabinet doors that arent variable.

I think the overall effect is kind of dark, but that it will come from the dark finish of the cabinets, especially if there are a lot of uppers.

I think it's very pretty!

I love the cabinets, but I do think the combo of dark cabinets plus that granite will be too dark. If you can find a lighter granite, it might look brighter. Love the backsplash!

I think it is possible the backsplash might be very bright and busy and take your eye away from the granite. I would wait to make a final decision until cabinet and counters are installed.

You have a busy counter, busy door style, busy wood type (knotty), busy floor, and busy backsplash (although using a matching white grout will tone down the busy factor of the backsplash significantly). It might be a bit much all together. I'm not sure what, if any, of the features you are already locked into, but things I'd consider, in order

Not use knotty wood

Simpler, whiter quartz counter

Non grey floor, just a neutral brown

I’m working on decisions for our own kitchen reno. My suggestion is to listen to your intuition. It sends us red flags. Yes. I do think the quartz is too busy which will make it too dark. Get more white and less pattern. Like your other choices.

Our choices were nagging at my husband and I so we recently hired a color specialist for a consult. It was nagging us bc we were wrong. Quartz for counter was too dark. Wrong color for floor. We must pull from warm colors of the acacia around the kitchen for floor. Color is very tricky. Be happy you are starting new and making the choices. That makes it much easier. Enjoy!

Love the cabinet choice, would not change. There is a lot of texture, movement w/floor and granite choice. I would change either the floor or granite to lighten both color and contrasting textures.

I think you will find the counter too dark when the room is done. I would also recommend using brushed nickel door/drawer pulls.

It looks great. But before you make your final selection, go to the granite yard and actually look at the slabs. Take your flooring and cabinet samples with you. Seeing a slab rather than a little sample you'll know if that is the way you want to go or not. Also, wait until the counters are in to pick out a backsplash as you may find you will go in a different direction once you see the kitchen in the physical space.

Beautiful! Warm, rich, and all pulled together with that pretty counter. It will look luxurious and stunning with your open view to the woods. Paint will play an important role. Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter or similar greige will lighten things up if that is a concern. Definitely not a dark paint.

i just popped through a lot of pictures of 'knotty alder' cabinets..... they can have a lot going on.... which isnt showing in your sample door. did you see a display at the kitchen store or just your sample door. be aware!

We were lucky that they had the full set on display. The cabinets seemed fairly tame with this stain with some “rusticity”. But will take a closer look when we go back in

here's the thing.... we see a lot of dilemmas at houzz that involve someone choosing a cabinet based on a door and then being shocked when they see a whole room full of their choice. since i'm seeing photo after photo of quite lively knotty alder, its really worth a conversation: "will my kitchen look like this display or like this photo?"

they can handpick what they want for their display, you won't have that option.

The colors of all the materials work very well together.

However, I do think it will be too dark with the countertops. I would opt for a lighter countertop for two reasons. First, it has a strong pattern and will compete visually with the decorative backsplash. Secondly, the darker colors are too prominent in the countertop.

I would opt for a countertop with minimal veining and pattern that still coordinates with your backsplash in a lighter, neutral color.

The color choices worked well together; however, it's very dark and very busy. I'd rethink your decision.

I think you will do just fine with these colors as long as you don't add any more of dark details in the kitchen. This combination of backsplash, stone, and cabinets is beautiful and with lots of natural light, you should be fine. However, it depends where do you live. How many sunny days per year do you have? Is it rainy and cloudy or mostly sunny? Depending on this, I would decide whether to go with this granite or choose something lighter.
