is your lawn sprayed for weeds?

i might cut it open.. and see if there is anything inside ..ken

So, I found a handful of these "curls", I opened one up and there was a very thick web in it... white, but no living creature in it...?

Lawn is not sprayed with anything, nor the neighbors.

Should I be concerned? I have 2 bushes next to each other and all together only a handful of these things.

Probably no need to try to control them - it's more a cosmetic issue than a plant health concern. Their numbers appear to fluctuate from year to year, at least on the burning bushes in my own yard. I've noticed lady beetle larvae feeding on them when they're abundant.
