Painting a house is always a big decision. Location is also a factor, the liighter color is nice, but you should look at other homes in your area as well so you are similiar but not the same.

Your house is lovely. For as pastel colour - a light grey with a white trim is lovely on timber houses.

I like your paint color. If you don't need to paint yet, you could add some variegated and burgundy bushes and colorful perennials to your landscape to compliment the current scheme.

But I think the pale yellow in your example would look lovely with a warm light gray on the lower skirt section and possibly the decorative board just below the dental molding with white trim. If you wanted earth tones, is a rich combination. Staying with green, but a different shade and on the base, Cloud Nine 2144-60 Benjamin Moore on the trim and Newburg Green hc-158 from Benjamin Moore on details looks good.

I think it will be important to keep the red brick in mind when choosing because it's prominent and very nice. I think sage green would be great with your red brick. The second picture (pewter gray) is really nice too. A creamy beige with black trim would be nice also.

Your house is very welcoming, and the style and architectural detail have great curb appeal. Remember to consider that you have an orange/red/brown brick on the steps, and I can't quite see what color the roof is, but both of those items should be considered accent colors that need to be complemented by the house color. I personally find that when people use cooler colors, such as grey and blue with that type of brick I don't find it very attractive. The green you currently have is exactly opposite on the color wheel from the brick color, so it makes a strong contrast and actually works pretty well. If I was going to change the color to something totally different, I'd pick something that blended with the stair color more than contrasted with it, something neutral with warm undertones, or if you wanted something bright, I'd go with a warm buttery yellow.

Great House, you do have a lot of options. If you are drawn toward the black house with white trim, why not lighten it up to a charcoal or the navy blue as previously suggested. The black is very stark and I think by selecting a lighter color such as charcoal or navy you will get a similar dramatic look but it wont be too drastic. Best of luck!

Hi, Your house is very pretty! I agree with Ann on the colors. The white vented area close to the planter section should be painted the same color of the house. Another choice would be a dark taupe with white or black accents. Personally, I wouldn't paint the door. I think I would change the light fixture and put your house numbers on a large plaque. Also, I think I would enlarge the cement landing towards the street about 24" and then continue to include the area around the stairwell; this will give you space to put your mailbox on a post and hide the hose in a large pot or basket container.

Thank you all for the great comments! I would love to paint my house yellow but there are too many yellow houses surrounding my house. I'll have to get some samples of some of the other colors and see what works best. I do like the Weekend Getaway color if I go for a lighter shade.

Look at Newburyport blue from Benjamin and also Kendall gray mt etna from Sherwin is another blue that would look great on your home

Paint it red! Make your house stand out in the neighborhood, and have all your neighbors envying your house!

All white, different finishes. Power wash your brick stairs and leave the door stained. See if the power washing will remove the green paint from the brick.

The big box stores have brochures of color coordinated exterior paints that I'm sure would help you decide what to paint your lovely Craftsman! I agree, strong shades of green on a house clashes--and distracts--with the natural beauty of living greens. Be sure to choose a minimum of three paint colors for your house. Four would really make it the charmer on the block! Have Fun!
