I don't have any comment on the tanning ledge but I would suggest you verify code and insurance rates before installing diving boards. They are not allowed in many places.

That pool right now is not deep enough for a diving board anyway and I have no idea what a tanning ledge is I just have decking and lots of places to sit around my pool

Congratulations on your pool! You will like the tanning ledge, great for lounging and great for kids. I'm not clear on where the steps would be. I don't have a tanning ledge but have been in lots of pools that have them. 6' x 10' seems good as long as your steps don't eat up too much of the space. My boys loved the pool with "swim-outs" on each long side. That is like a mini tanning ledge, just 2'. Initially a way to get of the pool near the diving board, having one on each long side of the pool provided hours of fun away from grownups lounging in the shallow end.

We have an 8' x 8' tanning ledge. It's a good size for 2 loungers. 6' seems a bit skimpy.
