Kitchen Countertop Advice

We're in the process of picking out countertops for our kitchen renovation. We really love White Macaubus Quartzite (see attached photo), but it is pretty expensive at $100 sq ft. We definitely want to use either Quartzite, Quartz or Granite. Looking for suggestions for something that looks similar to this Quartzite (white or light gray with a natural, strie effect) but is less expensive. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Test it yourself, please. Stoners are notorious for calling marble quartzite to make a sale. I've seen the heartbreak of discovery too often.

Yes, I've seen other posts on here about testing it with a piece of glass tile. We'll definitely do that if we decide to go with the quartzite. Thanks for the heads up!

$100 sq ft seems really high to me...you can get high end marble for that price

Yea it does seem high. I'm in the process of getting some more quotes so we'll see if it comes down at all...

quartzite is a very hard material and hard to fabricate. It also has a longer drying time which extends turnaround time from fabrication to install, hence the higher price on quartzite.

My White Macaubus starts at $88 / sqft.

I have not seen any quartz with similar lines to that stone.

Have you looked at Giatto Quartzite?
