Adenium Genetic Question

Looking at Mr. Ko's Ebay listings of adenium crosses got me wondering whether it makes any difference in the resulting seeds if you use the pollen from Plant A to pollenate Plant B and then do the reverse of introducing Plant B's pollen to Plant A. Wouldn't the resulting genetic mix be similar and it doesn't matter which plant's pollen is used to cross the other? I didn't agonize over my high school biology lessons so this may seem like a ridiculous question to some but I honestly don't have a clue and would appreciate an education here.. Thank you.
