Double Hung Window Pole Opener

I have a double hung window that is up high in a stair case that I no way can reach the lock to open it. I've been trying to find a pole that will unlock and open it with, but only find openers for casement windows, skylights or transoms. Is there anything out there that will do this, or any ideas for a diy project to make one? I don't know the make of the window since there are no labels anywhere on other windows that are the same. It would really be nice to be able to open it for added air

circulation on the second level.

Nothing out there that I know of with regards to double hungs. They are a bit more sensitive to being in the right position prior to locking and are not connected via mechanism. You are stuck with a ladder here.

Thanks so much for the information. The sashes need to be replaced since the seals are broken and I may resort to an electronic window. I have several other sashes that I'd like to replace the glass myself, but I don't know the manufacturer since there are no labels on any of the windows. Is there a way to identify the maker of these windows?

If you can post some pictures, some of the window experts/detectives here might be able to help identify. Especially try to get the glass markings

And regarding your original questions, you'd have to make something yourself to accomplish this. The locking/unlocking would be the tough part, as raising and lowering would be fairly easy.

You could attempt to make something like this pole ring work and use this pole to open the windows. They were designed for this application and typically used in schools and public buildings in the past.

Here is a picture of a number I found in one of the windows between the panes. I also drew an arrow where there is a rubber (?) seal around the edge of the window. This isn't much to go on, but any ideas as to the manufacturer of these windows?

Thats the glass info, unfortunately nothing a thing to do with the window manufacturer. Do the sash tilt in? Are there any markings on the outside edges of the screen frame?

Thank you for mentioning what that number means. Unfortunately, there are no markings on the screens. I may contact a local glass company and see if they give me options rather than telling me I need to replace all windows. Thanks again.

Look at the Smart Reacher Attachment on Amazon or go to www.smartreacher.com. Window must move smoothly and no hanging in track.
