Some states have restrictions on sending cutting across state lines, especially citrus cuttings. You might want to show which state you are in so people would know if they can ship the cuttings or not. Fig cuttings are easier to come by but they are best shipped dormant. Most people take cuttings during the winter. I would think nearly all would die in transportation this time of year.

Rebecka, you might want to look at the Adopt a newbie 8 and look at the first message. It will show you how to set your account so people can private message you.

If people want to trade or give seeds or cuttings, most want to PM you so other people will not come back months or years later asking if they still have those cuttings. You will also be able to exchange personal things like addresses. Sometimes it takes a couple of days for private messages to go through.

You do realize that none of the trees you list will be able to be grown outdoors year round in CO? So you need to think about your comfort level with growing trees in containers long term as well as if you have a suitable place to keep them over winter.

I agree with gardengal, and much of what you list is not propagated by cuttings (with the exception of fig and pomegranate) but rather grafting or seed in the case of date palm. The latter would take many years to grow from seed to fruiting age, and is impossible to do in a pot. Maybe start with a good general book on growing fruit, and then look around at local nurseries for plants you might like to try.

I do have a suitable place to keep them over winter... thank you I do my seedling starts in doors as well.

Fig roots easy from cutting and are easier to manage over winter because they go dormant. Anything evergreen will be a project to manage over cold season. Yes you can root citrus from cutting there are wholesale nurseries that propagate their entire stock that way. Should be okay for you as it will be potted in your climate. Forget about dates and avocados

Figs are easy to root as long as you keep the humidity high. Being by the coast that is not a problem for me. Never rooted anything except tomatoes and so far I am 7 for 7 on figs. All I did was put them in potting soil outside during winter. Again, I have naturally high humidity and mild temperatures.

Meyers lemons are typically rooted from cuttings in this area. They can take temperatures down to mid to upper 20's. They are a little pickier about the potting mix than figs. You might consider fabric pots. They drain better than plastic pots.

I know of several people that grow figs further north than you. They just need an unheated garage during the winter. Can take fairly cold temperatures if planted outside. The stems need protecting or they will freeze back to the ground.

hi Rebecka, have you been able to get some cuttings yet? I have lemons (meyer and variegated pink lemon, fig, pomegranate and I know this isn't listed but I have purple passionfruit also.

I also am looking for fruit tree cuttings. I was recommended growing trees for thertherapeutic reasons. I am working on germinating some seeds at the moment, I grow like a college biologist/botanist and would like some teees to start. I will grow any seeds i am sent and allowed to grow and would love a SASE cutting of a pomegranite, lemon, etc so I can propogate and fill in empty food space with easily harvested yumminess. Will be my indoor therapy plants. Write me for any tree or bush cutting you can provide and let's see whatvwe can do. Future karma always returned in spades.

Is there a garden club in your area that has a scion exchange? You could get cuttings locally and meet people who also grow fruit trees. HLB is a fatal citrus disease present in Florida, Southern California, and several other states, so getting citrus cuttings from out of your area is NOT a good idea. HLB was introduced into southern California by a backyard gardener who brought in cuttings from China and shared them with his friends.

Your local Master Gardener program would be a good source of information.
