Bkay2000, I think the sashing adds to the quilt too. I wouldn't make it as wide as the pumpkin/cat quilt shows. I'd cut it at 2.5" to make a 2" sashing. I think your idea of a cream and white sashing would be fine as long as it's a very small print that doesn't take away from the cat prints, maybe even a tone-on-tone print that reads "texture" not "print." I'd also be careful of using the purple leopard print. It's an adorable fabric (I love purple), but it's the only color that you wouldn't find on a real cat, so to me, it sticks out, unless you used some other not-natural colors too. It's a cute pattern. I like Lois suggestion for the sashing. . I don't think the purple is too far out at all and would use it more than once...why do I say That? After my recent experience with neutrals, I find they need a pop of color; given the subject of this pattern, it screams a few purple kitties to me, I might even add a green kitty and / or green and purple kitty to complement the purple and show off the othe animals prints; otherwise the other kitties could get lost.
