I started a quilt for Jackie's baby quilt project early this week - then we went camping. Got back today and may have a chance to work on it a bit this weekend, but our DS, DIL & granddaughter are coming tomorrow evening for dinner. The weather is supposed to be icky, so hope to have a chance to sew before they come!

Still working on the floors...we are SO close to finished! We should finish the baseboards today then we just have some final trim to stain and install and paint to touch up.

No, been very busy for the dinner for today, anyway, still trying to decide on how to quilt this project.

Not a sewing weekend here either. All of my fabric bins are down but I can't really get them organized until the carpenter comes to cut the nice new drywall to locate the phone junction box. So I am just trying to neaten them up. And maybe do a little purging.

I sure hope so. My husband and his two wonderful adult sons came home from a camping/fishing expedition on Thursday at midnight. They came home early due to storms in the Boundary Waters on the Minnesota/Canada border. My house has been in shambles since then. Two fishing boats in the driveway. Tents, cots, sleeping bags, fishing rods, camp cooking gear, etc., etc., all over the place. Utter chaos. But I love those guys, so it's all worth it. Plus, having two strapping young men around to help for two days is pretty wonderful. My husband just took them to the airport, so it's quiet here again. There's still a lot to put away, but it's not my job, so I'll be quilting. Besides, it's rainy here, so I can't do much outside.

I'm still whining about my knee. I finally gave up hope for spontaneous remission and made an appt. at the Dr. for tomorrow.

I finished squaring up my hsts for the lotto blocks (my least favorite quilting job). I got my D9P squares finished and split. I decided I've made more squares than I need for a lap quilt. I can't quilt anything bigger than that on my dsm and don't want to send it out to the longarmer. So, I'll pull some out for another quilt.

I found some more wildly colored cat prints online and ordered those for my cat quilt. (Thank you for the suggestion, Val)

I'm trying to stay off my feet, so I think I'll finish my lotto blocks this afternoon. The hard part is done on those.

Hello, all! I'm recovering from vacation w/the family and an exciting week at the beach...oldest was nipped by a baby shark. Nothing too serious & didn't require stitches, but exciting nonetheless.

I managed to eke out a little sewing time by practicing the magic 8 HST method on some scrap fabric. Woo-hoo! Such an easier way to make HST's! (Thank you, Jennifer!!!) I cannot believe I have no proper blues in my stash for the June block. That will be remedied on Errand Day this week.

I pulled some charms from my stash and put them up on the flannel board, so a Baby James quilt can be stitched soon. My other bit of sewing was a halter dress for my daughter and a skirt for me. Summer in the South requires quite a bit of ventilation. Dresses & skirts fit the bill. ;)

I did a bit of sewing yesterday but nothing yet today. Baby James quilt is ready to be sandwiched plus a couple doll quilts. The border is ready to sew together for the Elephant, 24 - 9 1/2" Hopscotch blocks are made and need pressing, 12 - 8 1/2" blocks are ready to put together but I'm thinking about sashing so that won't happen soon. I was sewing after midnight last night.....I never know when the spurt will appear or how long it will last. :-)
