Bathroom Tile Suggestions

Hi all - I'm re-doing a master bathroom. I ordered this cool looking stained glass Window which will go in the shower. I also ordered this taupe/grey vanity. But now I'm at a complete loss when it comes to shower tile/design and bathroom flooring. Anyone have any ideas on how to coordinate with this window? The diamonds are throwing me off and I don't know what shape to go with. I'm looking for porcelain or ceramic tile since it's easier to upkeep. HELP

What style are you hoping for? I think the window would pair nicely with a plain penny tile if wanting to keep it more traditional, or a larger scale hexagon if you wanted something more modern.

Thanks hutchae84. I like more traditional - whites, marbles, blacks. Penny tile would be pretty on the floor of the bathroom. I think the shower is where I'm lost. I wanted something large scale since its easier to clean but large scale seems too modern. I dont know I;m so confused.

Larger scale tile is usually not used on shower floors because of the slope for drainage. A smaller tile or penny tile would be good on the shower floor. As far cleaning goes, you can just use a darker shade tile or darker shade grout. Maybe a smaller square tile laid on a diagonal for the shower floor to mimic your stained glass window?

I wouldn't go large scale in shower, not only for drainage but slipping in shower, also some areas have codes to limit size (at least in CA we do) so you may be limited in how large you can go. I agree on going with penny tile in shower with dark grout.

Penny tile floor & large white hex tile shower walls would look amazing. You have half hex in your stained glass :)

That's what I'm doing in my bathroom - white 9" hex on floor and a teal penny tile in shower with large 3 x 14 white subway tile on the wall:)

I would keep something smaller in the shower pan since you need to slope and don't want it to be too slippery as others mentioned. I am using a 3" marble hex in my shower though (and rest of bathroom floor) and tiler said it shouldn't be an issue for sloping. You could do a slightly raised grout to make it less slippery too.

Even a 1 or 2" hexagon would be larger than penny tile if you are concerned about cleaning.

click on my name and look at my bathroom redo. I also used a beveled diamond, stained glass window. I used a 3" hex for the shower floor and haven't had one issue with slipping. I used a lot of black and whites, mixing traditional w/a little of my own thing. took me months and months to decide. I think I know just about every tile on the market!

if you post some pics of what you like, it would be easier to suggest something.

Also, post a pic of your room so we can see the layout. what is the size of the shower?

My shower is small but it is all done in 12" x 12" tile and no slipping ever, and it is a small shower.
