It was maybe about another 8” taller when I got it. I’ve cut about 2” off, twice, to try to induce growth. All that’s happening is those suckers! Thank you!!

All you can do is take care of it and wait for growth, one of my white mulberies in a container is just "waking up " , the buds are breaking on branches. The tree did not go dormant indoors in the winter, in April I brought it outside and it shed it's leaves and went dormant (the poor thing was confused). Mulberies are deciduous and need to go dormant in the winter time.

Yes, it can grow in to a beautiful tree :) Did you mean you rooted the sucker? You will have to graft a twig from a fruiting mulberry on it in order to get fruit sooner. Make sure you plant mulberry trees at least 12-14 feet away from the foundation of your house or other structure. They can get huge, they have agressive roots and can lift you house.

Oh no, sorry, I meant the scion. I put the prunings in a glass of water, and one of them developed roots. So it sounds like the rootstock is probably a fruitless variety?

Yes, they are well away from the house. I also planted a dwarf mulberry, that’s already 12’ in one year! They grow really fast here, but my family is crazy about the berries so we’re very happy. Thank you SO much for your help—I am learning so much from this group! :-)

Mulberries from cuttings grow well. The fruit is very good for you, especially good for brain health.

Leave top alone hopefully it pushes a bud.
