I also have a cedar shake house, and I think you need to do something about the shakes. They need a power washing and a fresh coat of stain. I do that first before I would as lighting. Good luck.

Agree shakes need attention. Very cute place. I think you should consider one wide fixture. That would unite the two doors. I will look for my concept examples for you.

I would like something like this. Do it in copper and let that age to a fine patina. Something a little different but your place looks more refined than camp house.

I know the shakes look bad I’m trying to convince hubby to spend the money on siding the front & side with Cedar Impressions. House is big & we may downsize in the next 3-5 years but think it would be better for curb appeal & resale value. Thus is what I want with white trim & black shutters

do not cover over or replace your shakes! just powerwash as suggested...they look so amazing!!! Your house is so inviting looking: and the bigger the light the better, IMO. Great house - love the shakes!

Agree with @shorttail - do not cover the shakes with fake shakes! Get them professionally cleaned. If you put something over the shakes or remove the shakes you will spend a lot. White or off white trim will keep things looking fresh.
