Two accent walls?

Dear Design Gurus,

I have a wallpapered wall in the dining room that gave a great colorful boost to an otherwise boring room. Its pretty bold. Same wallpaper as in the attached picture.

i like it so much that I would like to add a wallpaper accent to the entry way.

Are two wallpapered accent walls too much for a 3 bedroom apartment?

That is beautiful wallpaper, wow. I can see why you want it in 2 places. Honestly, I don't know whether it is a great idea. I'm interested to see what the consensus is.

Not sure I would use the paper in two places, but you can certainly pull that blue color throughout the apartment. Got a sample to take with you when you shop?

Gorgeous. I wouldn't do another wallpaper accent I would use the boldest blue from this paper in entry.

Sorry I didn’t make it clear. I didn’t mean using the same wallpaper. Just meant have two wallpapered wall. The same wallpaper comes in a cream color and is very understated. Or any other wallpaper. All ideas are very much appreciated.

I've seen multiple papers on the same floor done with great success often.( But seeing pics of your space would help) One must be careful of scale and colourway, just like when mixing fabric patterns in a room. If doing it,I would look for a different pattern and I would probably do more than just one wall in the entry....again depends on the space.

ps-what is the name of that gorgeous paper?

I will post the pics. The name is Kashmir Kaledoscope. Anthropologie carries it under a different name. Can’t recall.

I would paint , pick a blue from that gorgeous paper and paint the wall ,no more paper let this one be the show case no need for a competition.

A question to those of you who think that the colors (paint/furniture) in the entryway should complement the colors in the dining room. Here are the photos of the entryway. It already has a lot of blue art (a painting and large glass art). Will it be too much blue?

That wall paper is beautiful! I’d love to see your own dining room with it.

I like BeverlyFLADeziner’s suggestion of picking up a blue wallpaper (or paint) that compliments the one you have and using that for another accent wall.

I find blue to be very calming and welcoming so I do not think it would be too much to do an accent wall in entry way as long as you chose the colours wisely. I like the idea of a lighter blue rather than darker, since your entry way leads to a hallway, and does not appear to have a whole lot of light. You would not want something too dark that also “sucks in” the light there is.

It looks like you have a really lovely apartment!

I can't help but add this comment. You have a REALLY lovely space there. You obviously have a great eye, and a fantastic ability to "edit" (wish I could do better at that). There is so much to like about what you've done, and it's obvious you have decorating abilities. I love that vase in that niche. I really like that light casting those neat shadows as well. Maybe you could get some inexpensive wrapping paper or perhaps some posterboards painted in a matching color to your proposed wallpaper, to hang on the wall and you can see better whether it might be too much blue, or just what you need. I think you can trust your instincts.

Honestly.. I'd leave as is. Use that money and go on a staycation.

I don't think you would have been happy if you had added that complicated pattern wallpaper to such a complicated foyer. I am not crazy about the shadows created by those sputnik lights.

Is the tall chest across from the built in pew? Can the chest go somewhere else? I think the pew and the niche are enough architectural details. for the area.

Maybe a wallpaper like this that has the colors of the dining room paper could work in the foyer.

That striped wallpaper looks great. Thanks.

From the answers above, do I understand correctly, that regardless of the location in the apartment, all wallpaper should complement each other? Even if it’s entryway and dining room.

Thank you so much, Mrs. S. Very sweet of you. Now I will consider going into design field, haha.

BeverlyFLADezigner, the chest is needed there for function. Can’t go anywhere else but can be replaced one day. Sputnik lights have to stay. Would you rather not have anything in that area?

No if you need storage that's a functionrequirement, however for a foyer, it might be better to not have any furnishing item be taller than 36" to keep the space as visually spacious as possible.

Good space and beautifully done. Having seen it,I would not wallpaper. But I might have the cushion on the bench recovered. Not in blue, just in a heftier, gleam-y texture (mohair) or a subtle print (like Quadrille's Volpi). I like to give people extra hints about what lies ahead ;-)
