Yeah it does look awkward.... thoughts on tiling the whole wall? Keep the same left most edge, but continue it to the ceiling, and then fill in around the top of the hood, along the top of the window, then down along the right side of the window.

Also I know there's not much to be done at this point, but I've had a stove that close to a window before... it sure can get greasy :( Hm how high is your hood from the cooktop?

I would add 1-2 white floating shelves on the left side and fill up the space...your tile can stay the way it is, and you have an area to decorate :)

How on earth did that pass inspection with the window stool projecting into the prohibited zone for combustibles for the range? That is a fire hazard.

You need to add a 9” tray base between the range and window run and move the whole thing over. You have the room. Then the range will be centered on the wall, and you can tile the whole wall and have both correct function and form.

I don't think doing tile is an option at this point of time. it's as luckyblueeye suggested, I will do white shelves or spice tray to balance out. or even put little painting? moving everything to left by 9 inches also sounds like a perfect solution..i will definitely think about that but it involves doing more tile jobs / moving hood too
