i'd put a smaller table on the wall, so that it can be centered on just the thermostat part. then treat the thermostat as an element in a small gallery.

The table is on an angle I could straighten it out. Love the ideas about family gallery photos, but I do have one going up the stairway (which is next to this space) and another in the family room of the grand children. Wouldn’t another start to look cluttered?

lol yes.... it's already 2 too many for me.... (i have an inexpensive tablet that we programmed to be a photo frame, it shows one family picture each day, starting at 6 am... and i have to say its a real treat to see what is the photo of the day each morning).

for you, i'd skip any more family photos, go with 3 pieces of art in matching frames, frame your thermostat in a matching frame too, i think that second picture of mine is real cute.

Tall floor plant/tree..... I would not put a table in the corner, as it looks odd. Disguise the thermostat with the foliage of a floor tree. I'd place a fiddle leaf fig tree (real or faux) in the spot . Do you have any other floor plants in the room? I see a small plant on the stair landing, but it lacks lush foliage. (If you choose faux tree, place tree in bigger basket filled with plastic bags and covered with moss) Plants and greenery are the underestimated players in finishing a room. You seem to have chosen a home that represents your personal style....there appear to be lots of little angles...niches...partial walls...columns...as shown in all your pics...for anyone else I might suggest nothing in this spot..as it is already architecturally interesting and may be pretty with slight color variation on the walls facing the same direction....but honestly what you have seems just right with the exception of a little collection of small wall decor items to make a more vertical presentation....3-4 small botanical prints?...a collection of sunset prints?...hung in a zig zag pattern to avoid conflict with the wall thermometer

After looking again...maybe framed wine labels or wine theme art?

I second GroverAxle's comment. with maybe a square mirror behind the orchids and rather larger than smaller.

I like the tall tree and orchid ideas above. You could also use your wire table and plant in the cream and black pot in this location.

I'm in the camp for adding a simple tall plant there. To me the repetition in your last photo with florals in foreground and background looks too studied and unnatural. The antique sewing machine is too wide for the wall space, as you obviously sensed when you angled it. It also needs to be displayed with equally antique items that echo its vibe. I think you probably have a perfect place for it elsewhere. I envision someone coming around the corner there and getting a good bruise from the drawers on the left of the machine. The switch and thermostat would be nicely camouflaged with a plant too.
