Wow I didn't know they even made 10gph emitters! Would seem to defeat the entire purpose of using a drip system - a slow, deep, evenly dispersed delivery. Most of us use 1/2 or 1 gph emitters. Those can be run over a 1-2 hour time frame depending on plant, and run them much less frequently.

But do keep in mind that not all vegetables require the same amount of water nor the same frequency. And this especially true for container plants. What is good for lettuce and leafy greens can drown a pepper plant for example.

I'd strongly suggest you invest in some more reasonable sized emitters.

Some have 5 emitters and some only have 3.

If I remember, .67 (2/3rds) of a gallon per square foot will provide 1 inch of water. This will take a little bit of math on your part to understand the needs of each plant. What you can do is take one of the emitters and time how long it takes to fill .67 of a gallon and then you’ll know what kind of timing you will need to implement.

.623 gallons for 1" of water on 1 square foot. I'll look at my spreadsheet when I get home and get a rough figure.

These are my calculations for simply figuring amount of water required for putting 1" and 1.5" of water on your 4x4 beds using both three and five 10gph emitters per bed...
