Can the sections stand alone?

May tree has several trunks making it larger than 22 inches at the top. Can the sections be moved out to accoadate larger diameter.?

We would like to inform you that if the area you want to cover with the bench is larger than the 23" the pre-drilled holes for the assembly might not align properly for the rest of the structure.
