Anyone have a stainless steel backsplash behind their stove/range? Mine will be abutting tile. I need some design suggestions.

Do you put the backsplash to be flush with the tile or recessed? And if recessed, how do you transition?

Second, I have a 4 inch granite riser behind the range currently (extends thru whole kitchen) Would you remove and have backsplash starting from countertop?

I'm not looking to redo my whole kitchen at this time. I just want to install a range hood instead of having OTR microwave. This unfortunately is a part of that process of removing microwave.

We do not have extra of the old tile to extend tile thru where microwave would be after drywall installed.
