Thank you cineus. I've actually lived with it for about two years now lol. I'm normally a beige girl so tried to broaden my horizons by stepping out of my comfort zone. After two years I'm still not feeling it.

I like all you furniture and art, it doesn't happen often:) I think your rooms can look a lot better with different wall color. I guess you are not grey person? Any blue/green preferences?

Replace the rug. Something with lots of shades of green and gray. The gray sofas are really the source of your dissatisfaction with the color. The color is terrific.

I do not care for the yellow at all. I think an off white would look lovely in your home.

sofikbr I actually like gray and green but not a fan of blue unless it's in small doses in the accessories. The dining room opens to the kitchen which does in fact have gray floor and backsplash.

Sophie Wheeler the rug stays and LR furniture is not gray; it's more of an off white. The rug is pulling in the colors in the artwork so works well.

I agree that yellow tones are a good way to liven up the cream-neutral+wood items that take center stage in your home. A true citron, on the other hand, is a stronger statement. Perhaps BM's "Peaceful Garden" (CSP-830)? If you're looking for more green undertones, then start with your color's swatch and tell the consultant at the BM paint store that you want to go more green but not darker. Personally, I'd be inclined toward a stronger, golden-yellow but it's hard to tell in photos. Incoming light, time of day, etc. all affect the mood of a color.

Another beautiful room. I think it is great idea to go with very light gray or light gray/green. Get few samples and see how it look. What is wall color in kitchen? I prefer same color in open to each other room, or at least similar.

I think you’re on the right track with the color but see what you mean about reading a little too much like flat yellow. I’m wondering if you can use your pillows as inspiration to go more toward the mustard (dijon) end of the spectrum. Maybe a little darker than you would naturally go and you might get the color you were looking for. Maybe grab some paint samples that compliment those pillows and splash them up on several walls. Again, I think you’ve got the right color family, it’s just about refining the hue.

sofikbr thank you again! I'm actually in the process of choosing a paint color for the kitchen as well. It's currently SW Collonade Gray, which doesn't work with new floor or backsplash. I was going to change it to SW Accesible Beige which works beautifully in that room. I too am a huge fan of flow from one room to another which may be why I'm also unhappy with current LR/DR color.
